Eibach Dodge Challenger debuts at Essen Motor Show
December 31st, 1969
The 2008 SEMA show featured no shortage of customized Dodge Challengers, and for good reason - the has been a rather solid success in the U.S., at least in SRT8 form, especially considering Chrysler's other woes. It appears that Europeans are at least open to the car as well, if this Eibach-modified example is any indication.
Noting that the historical weak spot of American muscle is the handling department, Eibach focused its efforts on suspension and grip rather than generating more than the factory-specified 425hp (317kW). The key changes are a set of Eibach System Multi-Pro R2 coilovers and a set of enormous 22in rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1R tires at 265/30 sizing.
Aesthetically, the Eibach Challenger is a striking car, with the factory orange accented by twin black racing stripes, race-oriented graphics (including a Dukes of Hazzard-style '01' number on the side of the car), a full-on interior treatment with more brilliant orange splashed about, and a custom Alpine DVD-capable flat screen entertainment system.
The car is so far intended only as a display of Eibach's capabilities, but since the company converted the Challenger's lighting and other elements for German licensing, there is the possibility of small-volume production.Eibach Dodge Challenger at Essen Motor Show
