Zele unveils custom Nissan 370Z at 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon
December 31st, 1969
Just before Christmas Zele International confirmed that it would unveil a customized version of the new 2009 Nissan 370Z, or Fairlady as it is known in Japan, at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. Now the car has been fully revealed, complete with a parts list of what went into the upgrade.
Heavy with carbon fiber and titanium, the list is - as the car's name suggests - a complete replacement of the main aerodynamic and performance elements of the car. Starting with the body kit, Zele has upgraded the 370Z Complete Edition to include: a new front aero bumper; carbon fiber front lip spoiler; redesigned rear bumper and side skirts; and a carbon fiber rear spoiler, B-pillar covers, radiator shroud and mirror covers.
Titanium elements include a new shift knob, strut tower brace and a 'Type 2' muffler. The car's suspension is upgraded with an Aragosta kit and new brakes provide even more fade-resistant stopping power. RAYS Volk Racing TE37G2 alloy wheels finish off the exterior treatment with some lightweight and attractive equipment from one of the most prized makers of racing wheels. Inside, the car gets a pair of Recaro bucket seats upholstered with Alcantara.
The Tokyo Auto Salon is a tuner event, similar to the SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas, and traditionally features a range of highly modified cars from all facets of the industry, including major carmakers, established tuners, and small start-ups.
Zele also showed a preview of its Complete Edition GT-R at SEMA a few weeks back, and finally revealed it at the salon a week ago.
Now that Zele's complete edition is out in the wild, armchair tuners the world over will be arguing its superiority or inferiority to Nissan's own Nismo-enhanced 370Z, which you can read about here.
