Chevrolet will showcase a handful of Camaro concepts, most previewing new accessories planned for the car
Enlarge PhotoOne of the most interesting concepts planned is the Camaro LS7 Concept, which as its name suggests is powered by a GM Performance Parts LS7 Crate engine. This is the same engine found in the Corvette Z06 but in the Camaro concept vehicle it has been tuned to 550hp. Other features include a Tremec six-speed manual, Brembo brakes, lowered suspension, and 20in alloys.
Another, named after NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt Jr., is based on the Camaro SS but has been tuned to run on high-octane E85 fuel. The exterior features a gray-over-white paint scheme, and other details include 21in alloy wheels and a dovetail spoiler.
Another highlight is the Camaro GS Racecar Concept, which has been styled along the lines of Mark Donahue's original blue-and-yellow Trans Am Series Camaro. The car features a production LS3 V8 mated to a Tremec 6060 six-speed, but comes with a carbon fiber hood, bonnet, doors, and fenders, as well as a three inch exhaust and upgraded cooling accessories.
