Toyota reveals Modellista enhanced iQ

December 31st, 1969 Toyota’s iQ minicar officially went on sale in Japan this month and to coincide with the launch the company also revealed several new styling packs under the guise of its in-house accessories brand Modellista. Two different Modellista iQs are on offer - the Maxi and Mixture - and both are available with a range of simple performance mods as well. The Maxi model is the sportier of the two, and comes with a custom front bumper, side skirts, and a central-mounted exhaust pipe. It is available in three different colors and costs around $4,000 for the complete kit. The Mixture model is more about color themes, allowing customers to select different colors for the door mirrors and optional body decals. It is available for a little over $720. As previously mentioned, both cars can be fitted with a range of performance mods including lowered coil springs, a less restrictive muffler and 16in alloys. The standard iQ features 15in alloys and is priced from about $13,860 in Japan. So far the iQ has only been confirmed for sale in Japan and Europe, but Toyota has confirmed that the diminutive hatch is being considered for sale in the United States and a recent report also speculated that the car could make an appearance at next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show as a Scion. If it were sold as a Scion it is likely the iQ would be available with a similar accessories range to help boost its profitability.2010 Toyota iQ minicar
