December 31st, 1969 Oct.1 (GMM) Just as it emerges that Williams is running up debts, London's Evening Standard newspaper reports that another midfield F1 team, Toro Rosso, has recorded a profit for the first time in years. One race after team driver Sebastian Vettel drove to victory at Monza, the paper's business section says the newly lodged 2007 accounts for Scuderia Toro Rosso show a $720,000 profit. Reportedly, this involves more than $50 million in investment by the Red Bull energy drinks company, whose supremo Dietrich Mateschitz co-owns the team with Gerhard Berger. The profit is the first for Faenza based Toro Rosso, previously known as Minardi, in more than ten years.
