"Our prototype is about 18 kilograms heavier than what we are aiming for next year," McLaren chief executive Martin Whitmarsh told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. The same magazine reports that Honda is so far the most advanced with its KERS system for 2009. "The extra boost is already very big," the Japanese team's test driver Alex Wurz said, after doing many laps with the system attached to an interim RA108.
