Bourns Launches New SinglFuse Line of Thin Film Chip Fuses
December 31st, 1969
RIVERSIDE, Calif., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Bourns, Inc., a leading
manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced its
SinglFuse(TM) SF Series of thin film chip fuses. This new line provides
highly reliable overcurrent protection in three surface mountable footprint
sizes. Each product size features two series to cover the fusing types of
fast-acting and slow-blow. The new SinglFuse series expands Bourns'
comprehensive circuit protection portfolio with a line of thin film chip
fuses for use in applications such as LCD monitors, digital cameras, cell
phones, industrial controllers and rechargeable battery packs.
Bourns' SinglFuse products protect against a wide range of overcurrent
events and feature current ratings from as low as 500 m amps up to 7 amps.
The thin film design of Bourns' new SinglFuse products ensures high
precision for specific fusing characteristics. Single-use thin film chip
fuses are specifically designed for applications which require one-time
acting fuses that allow a physical break in the circuit if a short circuit
arises, eliminating the need for a circuit reset. The thin film design
allows customers to order customized thin film chip fuses to meet their
specific product needs. The Bourns SinglFuse line is also RoHS compliant
and halogen free.
"With the introduction of the new SinglFuse line, Bourns is able to
satisfy growing customer demand for a broader range of circuit protection
solutions that meet specific standards requirements and solve application
challenges," said Brian Ahearne, Multifuse(R) technical marketing manager
at Bourns. "Our customers benefit from the industry's broadest line of
circuit protection products backed by years of collective application
expertise and support."
Pricing and Availability
Bourns' SinglFuse SF Series product line is available now in production
quantities. As a pricing reference, the new thin film chip fuses are
offered in the price range of $0.32 to $0.38 in 5,000 minimum quantities.
