Look ma, no hands - BMW’s Driverless Parking
December 31st, 1969
In its pursuit of the “ultimate driving machine” BMW has developed a system that, well, doesn’t require any driving. BMW has designed a self-parking car that uses a small camera and reflector placed at the end of your garage. It requires just a single push of a button attached to the car’s key and notably, does not require the driver to remain in the car like most automated parking systems developed by other manufacturers.
After looking at the video, would you feel safe walking away and relying on the self parker to actually work?
