Renault Megane F1 Special Edition
December 31st, 1969
To celebrate the winning of the Formula One world championship, Renault has launched the Megane F1 special edition. Additions to the regular hatch include stripes on the bodywork and a plaque on the dash. Renault has even included stickers for the windows, which should sit nicely with the fast and the furious crowd. Other touches include black alloy wheels, door mirrors and very comfy Recaros.
The fact that there are no mechanical upgrades whatsoever makes this overall package more for posing than anything else. At least it has the same stiffened suspension and big Brembo brakes from the regular Cup version. Though 225 bhp (168 kW) isn’t anything to laugh at, it's a pity all that power is transmitted through the front wheels.
