Passat R36 confirmed for 2007

Passat R36 confirmed for 2007

December 31st, 1969 Initial rumours were circulating that Volkswagen were planning to release a hypo car based on their 3.6-litre V6, in the form of a Golf R36. According to 4 Car, VW will set aside the R36 moniker for its Passat sedan. Details are scarce, but expect the R36 to develop around about 300 hp through a DSG direct-shift gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive. Hopefully styling will be influenced by the Passat R GT pictured, that was built for SEMA 2005 – this bad boy had a 575 hp, twin-turbo V6. The model is expected to be released in the first half of 2007. Passat lovers rejoice, you know who you are. [Source: 4 Car]
