Audi’s new baby, the A1

Audi’s new baby, the A1

December 31st, 1969 Looking very much like the Shooting Brake concept, the upcoming Audi A1 is expected to make its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. That introduction can’t come soon enough considering the runaway success competitors like BMW’s Mini and 1-Series are enjoying. Expect pricing to be around the 16 – 18 thousand Euro mark, with either the TDI or FSI engines as options. To keep costs down, Audi was forced to forgo a quattro version. There will most likely be different versions too, a 2-seater roadster and a 2+2 convertible. With possible cabriolet versions of BMW’s 1-Series in the pipeline and with the new Audi A1 just around the corner, all those trendy macchiato sippers will be having a field day. More images after the jump.
