December 31st, 1969 What do the following cars have in common: the new Mini, BMW X5, Ferrari F430, and the Ferrari 599 GTB? They were all designed by Frank Stephenson, which officially makes him one of our favourite designers. He’s now head of design at Fiat, and responsible for helping the ailing automaker to turn around its situation with stylish new cars. In an interesting interview with The Irish Times, he talks about how he was hired away from BMW, what it was like designing Ferraris, and what the future holds for Fiat.
