Peugeot's new 206 to be labeled a Citroën for China


December 31st, 1969 PSA Peugeot Citroën group will sell its new Peugeot 206 wearing Citroën badges for the Chinese car market. Though past examples of "badge-engineering" have failed for most car manufacturers, the move makes logical sense for the French partnership. Peugeot is relatively unknown in China while Citroën has proven to be a popular brand in emerging Asian markets. The new Citroën C2 and the upcoming Peugeot 206 will share much in common, more so than any previous models and these images show what the new Chinese C2 will most likely look like. The next 206 will share the same basic shape but will come with revised head and tail lights plus new bumpers for other markets.
