Ferrari may build Dino, "son of Enzo"
December 31st, 1969
Rumour has it that Ferrari is planning a new entry level V8 coupe that will be positioned below the F430, and may carry the Dino nameplate. In a report from Automotive News, the new car will feature a folding metal roof and is scheduled to arrive in European showrooms by 2008 and the US by 2009.
There are conflicting statements from Ferrari officials surrounding the news of a new baby Ferrari. Back in April, Ferrari CEO Luca Cordero di Montezemolo stated that there were no plans of any such car. However, we also had Amedo Felisa, Ferrari Deputy Managing Director admitting that Ferrari did consider such a car but plans have since been scrapped.
There are other rumours, as claimed by both Automotive News and an Italian publication, that Ferrari is developing a new front-engined V8 powered four-seater.
