Mosler’s 2006 MT900 GTR race car for the road

December 31st, 1969 Germany’s importer of the 7.0-litre LS7 powered Mosler MT900 R has created a road-going version that they’ve labelled the MT900 GTR. The original car was popularized after winning at the British and Spanish GT Championships back in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 the car went on to gained success in the FIA GT2 class. The special edition GTR version was created in a partnership between Mosler Automotive in the UK and its German arm, Mosler Deutschland. The plan was to develop a fast going production car that could be taken to the track but was still reliable. Other manufacturers that helped created the GTR include BBS, Dunlop, Recaro, Alpine among others. The car utilizes a KW Automotive designed racing suspension system and ceramic racing brakes provided by Movit. The LS7 engine, which is also used by the Corvette Z06, has been tuned to produce 600hp in the up-spec version. Power is sent to the wheels via a Getrag six-speed transmission or an optional sequential gearbox from Hewland. To keep with its road-going ambitions, the GTR was fitted with windows, remote central locking and even an air-conditioner. Source: Fast-Autos.net | Via
