December 31st, 1969 The roadster version of Aston Martin’s V8 Vantage has been revealed in all its glory to a select bunch of people and Forbes Autos was there to capture it. Picking up the Roadster name as its official tagline, the drop top version looks just as sizzling, if not better, than its coupe counterpart. Apart from the roof, the Roadster has a unique rear to accommodate the folding canvas roof. Mechanicals are unchanged from the coupe, meaning there’s still the sonorous 4.3L V8 under the hood. The model seen here utilizes a conventional six-speed manual transmission, but the Roadster will also come with an optional Sportshift automated manual transmission with paddle shifters.
