Ghosn gets Knighted

December 31st, 1969 Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault-Nissan and the man credited with turning around the fortunes of both companies, has been appointed as an honorary knight commander of the British Empire. Though he won’t carry the title “Sir” before his name - that honor is bestowed only to the Queen’s subjects - he can call himself Carlos Ghosn, KBE. The award is given to individuals who are recognized for making significant and inspiring contributions in any field. Ghosn was awarded the title in honor of the achievements of Nissan’s 5,500 employees and 220 dealers that support Nissan across the UK. Past honoraries include Microsoft Corp. founder Bill Gates and Sony Corp. co-founder Akio Morita.
