Peugeot's green 307HDi

December 31st, 1969 Peugeot has released limited edition versions of its popular 307HDi vehicles that release less pollution than they take in from the air. Utilising Peugeot’s HDi diesel engine technology, the car has also been designed to minimise harmful greenhouse gas emissions. As with all Peugeot diesel models, the ‘OXYGO’ is equipped with Peugeot’s patented particulate filter, which reduces particulate emissions greatly. In urban environments the air from the car’s exhaust actually has fewer particulates than the air the engine takes in. Equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and topping out the 307 diesel range, the new OXYGO has a combined fuel consumption figure of 6.7 litres per 100km, giving the car a standard tank range of 896km’s – or close to 1100km’s on the highway cycle. Despite these economy figures, the 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine develops 320Nm of torque. To further push the environmental benefits of the 307 HDi ‘OXYGO’, Peugeot is collaborating with Greenfleet to plant 20 trees for each model sold.
