Video: History of the Ferrari F40

December 31st, 1969 Ferrari's first 200mph car was truly extreme, ditching all the niceties of a road car to be as close to a race car as possible. The paint was so thin you could see the carbon-fiber weave inside, and the whole car weighed just 1100kg. With a 478hp turbocharged V8 it could hit 0-60mph in just 3.2 seconds, a result that would still be impressive today. It's hard to imagine this car was running around almost 20 years ago.
