Hohenester’s HS 350 tuner TT
December 31st, 1969
Can’t wait for the TT-RS? German tuner Hohenester may have the car for you. Their HS 350 performance kit adds a pair of Garrett water-cooled turbos to the 3.2L V6, giving enough mumbo to let the stylish coupe reach 60mph from rest in 4.9 seconds all the way to an electronically controlled top speed of 175mph. Official figures are 353hp with peak torque at 485Nm of torque. Better yet, the car still meets Euro IV emission levels.
Other modifications are done to the exhaust and intake systems, with conventional steel pipes replaced with aluminum. Engine internals and fuel injectors have also been upgraded to round out the power modifications. The standard brakes have been replaced with 365mm disks in the front and 310mm in the back.
The exterior has been kept subtle, with the only major change being the optional OZ or BBS wheels in 18 or 19in diameter.
