Honda to offer diesel V6, maybe turbos


December 31st, 1969 Honda’s CEO Takeo Fukui has revealed details about their diesel strategy, which includes the introduction of a V6 engine that may fit in four vehicles across the Honda and Acura range. These include the Ridgeline, Pilot, and Odyssey, as well as the Acura MDX. Honda will begin its diesel offensive with a 2.2L four-cylinder diesel in 2009, with the V6 to follow shortly afterwards. It currently sells a 2.2L diesel engine in European and Asian markets that develops 140hp. He also said in the interview with AutoWeek that they are looking at introducing turbos to the Honda range. So far, the only Honda product with a turbocharger has been the Acura RDX, but Mr Fukui stated that turbo technology may be expanded in the line-up.
