Donkervoort D8 Coupe
December 31st, 1969
Despite the funny name, Dutch company Donkervoort has been building some pretty serious sports cars, and their latest model is just about to be revealed. They’ve been working on a fixed-roof version of the D8 roadster by adding a carbon fibre roof and wing mirrors. The D8 also has a roll-cage, and the GT version will be only 20kg heavier than the roadster. It’s powered by Audi’s 1.8T 20V engine that develops between 180 and 270hp. Only 50 will be built every year, ensuring exclusivity and the D8 will be formally shown at the Geneva Motor Show.
