Swiss designed Beck LM800 stars in Vienna

December 31st, 1969 Vienna’s Luxus Motor Show, an event dedicated to high-end luxury saloons and supercars, exclusive motorbikes and rare racing and classic cars, saw the unveiling of the Swiss designed Beck LM800 supercar. Based in Berne, Switzerland, Beck is a builder of niche supercars and an expert in the manufacture of advanced composite materials such as Kevlar and carbon-fiber. Their Beck LM800 supercar is powered by a turbocharged 4.2L V8 developing 650hp that’s mated to a semi-sequential seven-speed gearbox and limited slip differential. Changing gears is done via a conventional gear knob or steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The basic construction of the car is similar to a Formula 1 racing car with a central monocoque made of composite materials that protect the driver and provide the necessary rigidity, including aluminum, magnesium, titanium, as well as the latest plastic and Kevlar. Using current exchange rates, the Beck LM800 is yours for just over $600,000.
