Spy Shots: 2008 Mercedes C-Class brochure leaked
December 31st, 1969
Images from the official brochure for Mercedes' long-awaited C-Class sedan have leaked onto the web, revealing what the final car will look like ahead of its launch on the 18th of this month. Taking styling cues directly from the more expensive S-Class saloon, the new C has grown in all dimensions over the previous model.
Upscale models feature a prominent grille with an enlarged version of the three-pointed star sitting centre. Lower spec models, including the “Elegance” range will sport the more traditional grille with the emblem remaining on the bonnet. The images also show a model wearing the new AMG sport package, which includes unique bumpers and wheels.
The base model will carry over with the familiar 1.8L four-cylinder compressor engine outputting up to 190hp, which will be joined by two V6 models including 2.5L and 3.5L versions. The latter will produce close to 270hp and include Mercedes new 7G-Tronic automatic transmission.
