The 560HP CLR M5 by LUMMA DESIGN
December 31st, 1969
German tuner Lumma Design has taken a donor BMW M5 saloon and turned it into the LUMMAnator Spectacular CLR 500 R-S by adding a comprehensive bodykit, racing exhaust system and a new interior. Final output thanks to the revisions is a very healthy 560hp, which is enough to send the Bavarian beast to a top speed of 327km/h.
Specific modifications include a full racing exhaust system with large-diameter high-flow catalytic converters. The engine’s ECU has also been upgraded to optimize efficiency from the increased flow. A new air plenum, carbon air-filter enclosure and red cylinder head covers brighten up the engine bay, while a wide-body aerodynamics kit with a wind-tunnel tested racing diffuser adorns the exterior. An H&R sports suspension kit sees the car ride a full 40mm lower than the regular M5, while huge 21in wheels fill the massive guards.
Lumma haven’t left the interior untouched either. Inside, the car gets leather trim that matches the brash paint job, a new instrument cluster with orange faceplates and a 360km/h speedo, plus a Lumma designed ergonomic steering wheel. The pedals and footrest made from anodized aluminum featuring the Lumma signature completes the interior package.

The dream car of every taste-deprived pimp (is that redundant?). What a complete piece of crap. That 560 HP on those 21 inch wheels will really be helpful. A real driver. From the garage to the front of the driveway. To the garage, Thank God Lumma Design knows more about cars than BMW and has fixed all the real problems with the M5.
