Jaguar launches special edition XKR Portfolio
December 31st, 1969
The latest car to get Jaguar’s ‘Portfolio’ treatment is the stunning new XKR, which gets a number of styling and mechanical changes to make this one of the best Jags ever made.
The model gets unique exterior styling treatments such as 20-inch polished Cremona five-spoke alloy wheels, polished aluminium side power vents and Celestial Black paint.
Under the hood, the 4.2L supercharged V8 remains untouched, pumping out 420HP.
The XKR Portfolio is also fitted with the largest brakes ever carried by a Jaguar – 400mm front discs with six-piston callipers, while at the rear four-piston callipers operate on 350mm discs. Jaguar claims that the new brakes offer fade-free performance even under track conditions.
The XKR Portfolio also marks another first for Jaguar: the first production Jaguar to be fitted with Bowers & Wilkins audiophile grade speakers. Taking Jaguar’s 525W Premium Audio system with Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound as a starting point, Bowers & Wilkins has built a speaker system specifically for the XKR’s cabin. High-output, low-distortion Kevlar mid-range speakers and specially designed aluminium-dome tweeters should deliver crisp audio.
The new Jaguar XKR Portfolio is available to order from the end of March 2007 with deliveries expected towards August.

This is probably the fanciest Jaguar ever... It's really awesome.
