Mercedes Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series
December 31st, 1969
We’ve always been big fans of the limited edition Mercedes CLK DTM, a car based on the DTM racing bodykit and priced at over €230,000. Now, AMG is presenting the CLK63 AMG Black Series, which brings back most of the aggressive widebody kit and also some better performance figures to boot. Loosely based on the modifications done to the Official F1 safety car, this Black Series car is fitted with a 6.3L V8 engine developing 507hp and capable of pushing the car to 100km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
The suspension setup can be personalized with the new AMG threaded sports suspension, allowing you to pick the right level of stiffness for the road surface. The AMG high-performance brake system, with larger composite-technology disks on the front axle helps to ensure you stop as fast as you accelerate. The standard tire sizes are 265/30R19 (front) and 285/30R19 (rear), which are mounted on light 19-inch AMG forged rims.
On the outside, modifications include a new front apron with large cooling intakes and lateral carbon-fiber outlets, flared wheel arches, and a rear apron with diffuser fins and active rear-axle cooling. Inside, you get the usual swathes of carbon fibre.
