Is this the rumble of Lamborghini’s new V8 Gallardo?
December 31st, 1969
This spy video shows a suspicious Lamborghini Gallardo circling the Nurburgring, rumored to be a new entry level V8 model sporting the 4.2L motor from Audi’s R8. The key giveaway is the downsized exhaust pipes seen in previous spy shots. Onlookers also said the car ran noticeably quieter than the current V10, but we’ll let you be the judge.

It doesn't sound like a V8 to me but the move would make sense when you consider that Audi owns Lamborghini and the last thing they would want to do is make a superior contender to their own car, despite the fact that the V10's are out and about still this is a car they could put in that class and possibly beat which only leave Porsche as competition but instead of being last in class they'll be 2nd ;).

What we've noticed is the engine doesn't sound high-pitched as the normal Gallardo V10. This has a deeper tone to the shrill of the Lambo V10.
