Zagato designed Diatto Ottovų goes into production
December 31st, 1969
The Diatto Ottovų concept car that was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show back in March will be entering production in a limited run of just 99 cars. Penned by famous Italian design studio Zagato, the original concept cars, of which there were two, were designed and built for two wealthy Italians, who desired a car that was as stylish and exclusive as a Bugatti.
Created in 1835 with a Perfected Wheel patent, Diatto made their first car in 1905 and often crossed paths with Zagato in their close collaboration with Ettore Bugatti, the Maserati brothers and Tazio Nuvolari.
The modern day Diatto Ottovų will be powered by a 4.6L V8 engine sourced from Ford, which develops between 530 and 650hp. With a kerb weight of approximately 1,450kg, the stylish coupe should reach 100km/h from rest in less than four seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 300km/h.
