Video: Porsche Panamera drive-by
December 31st, 1969
This latest video of Porsche’s upcoming Panamera gives a preview of the sound we can expect emanating from the new four-door’s tailpipes. The new model will be available with a range of engines including a hybrid V6 and a twin-turbo V8, and the sound of the muscle car burble in this latest clip leads us to believe that this is the bent-eight version in testing. It’s still early days, however, as the Panamera isn’t expected to be unveiled until the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.

Almost everyone said the 928 was ugly..

What exactly is your point? If you're trying to criticize the panamera's styling, i suggest you wait until the final version is revealed. As for the 928 comment, I know quite a few people who'd disagree.

Chill out Ronny. Were you holding out for the Cayenne too? Whoopsie!
Besides, it's clear his main point was how he knows more people who know more about various things than you do

Croot, i wouldn't have imagined that it was possible for someone to post a comment dumber than Ryanza's but you have proved me wrong. Yeah sure, the Cayenne is so ugly.. that's why it's Porsche's number one selling model in North America.
If a person criticizes the styling of the 928 why do you assume they know more about various things than I. A car's styling is subjective and whether somebody likes it or not is not a measure of how much they know.
Why come here and attack me with comments that are neither intelligent nor accurate?

Who cares how they look. Everybody knows that you buy a Porsche for 2 reasons:
1. You care about performance and handling
2. You\'re a poseur
I don\'t agree with what Porsche has done with the Cayenne but it\'s BY FAR the best handling SUV on the planet. Drive one and you\'ll be shocked at just how capable it is. Porsche engineers are still the best in the world.

Ronny I'm not surprised you need someone to explain this all for you.
I 'attacked' you because you shut ol' Ryanza down. You misunderstood him, by your own admission, then proceeded to describe how meaningless his point was...you big bag of douche.
What you missed was that he probably likes the 928 as much as anyone, perhaps it just wasn't instantaneous. It's hard to know how looks will be appreciated from the get go and mass consensus often differs from the cult consensus (928, Z5 etc.)
You then failed to understand that I sarcastically said he was claiming to know more than you because all you seem to do is yam on about how much you know and proceed to call other people dumb.
Walt's right: the fact that it's the number one selling SUV in N.A proves
1. Americans generally only care about performance and handling
2. They're posers (and they're loaded)
Why he's watching prototype videos and saying "who cares how they look" beats me?
The shame is that Porsche cannot add the third point to Walt's list (looks) with any contemporary models besides the 911 and GT. The fact is that the Panamera mule is overweight, but then, I suppose if its largest customer-base is too, they probably won't mind.
