Teaser for high-performance Saab 9-3 Turbo X
December 31st, 1969
Saab will be showing a new “Turbo X” model of the 9-3 at the Frankfurt Motor Show designed to evoke the iconic Saab 99 and 900 ‘Black Turbos’ with visual tweaks and performance upgrades. Saab originally showed its first turbo model at the Frankfurt show in 1977, so this show will mark the 30th anniversary.
Rumors suggest the new model could be a 9-3 Aero XWD pumping out over 300hp from its V6 engine. Sadly, the hot Saab will be available as a limited edition only but we hope it could pave the way for a permanent high-performance model.
