Spy Shots: 2008 Porsche Boxster and Cayman facelift
December 31st, 1969
Almost completely undisguised prototypes of Porsche’s 2008 Boxster and Cayman have been spotted by spy photographers undergoing final testing ahead of the car's reveal planned for later this year. Like the facelifted 911, also due by the end of the year, Porsche’s updated Boxster and Cayman will only receive a few subtle changes to the bodywork, namely new LED taillights, reshaped headlamps and new bumpers.
The front bumpers now sport large circular shaped air intakes that also house the foglights, while the rear gets a revised diffuser integrated into the bumper. Other changes include new LED daytime running lights up front and new wheels borrowed from the larger 911.
Changes to the engines will be minimal. Engineers just updated the mechanicals for the 2007 model year with the addition of Porsche’s VarioCam Plus valve technology, so we don’t expect any major changes to be lurking beneath the sheetmetal.
