2008 Audi A4 breaks cover
December 31st, 1969
Images of Audi’s next-gen A4 sedan have turned up on Dutch forum AutoWeek.nl (the post has since been removed), less than two weeks ahead of the car’s debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. As the image reveals, the new A4’s styling draws heavily from the larger A5 coupe and could pass as a four-door variant of the recently launched coupe.
The car measures in at 4.7m long and 1.83m wide. Under the new sheet-metal is Audi’s latest Modular Design Platform, which means the new B8 A4 should have better handling characteristics than the outgoing version thanks to improved weight distribution.
The new petrol engine lineup will start with a 1.8L TFSI developing 160hp and top out with a 260hp 3.2L V6 FSI rounding up the range. The TDI diesel range kicks off with a 140hp 2.0L, followed by a 190hp 2.7L V6 and a 3.0L V6 churning out 240hp and 500Nm (369lb-ft) of torque.

Eh, thats it?
Blah. too blunt, too derivative of the TT in the hood. Maybe this isn't the best picture or angle of the car, but looks like my modded B6 will stay with me a few more years yet. (no mention of North American motors either - 2.0 @ 200hp? would like to find that its lighter than before with 220hp or so in the base model).

A very conservative re-styling of the already straight laced A4. Critics will bemoan the continued presence of the water-fall grille. Still, I've got no beef with the sedan's looks.

I like it! But not in red. And for the love of god bring those diesel engines to America.

i have the 2005 addition of this car and it drive beautifully! goes 0-60 in 7.1 seconds! very nice! Although the tires are slick when it rains, but other than that A+!
