Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang: pure blooded exclusivity

Updated: New images
This is the new Bugatti EB Veyron 16.4 Pur Sang, a special edition version of one of the world's fastest cars, limited to a production run of just five units in total. The now "plain" Veyron sold more in a single day in Dubai upon its release in 2005, where six cars were sold in its first public sale.
With the (as-yet unannounced) price tag likely to exceed the GDP of some small-to-medium sized nations, the Pur Sang must offer some special accoutrement, no? In addition to everything that is a Bugatti Veyron, Pur Sang owners will revel in a body shell made of an extremely pure aluminum alloy, to prevent irregular polishing, a carbon fiber monocoque body, and no paint. That's right, only the bare carbon fiber and aluminum will grace the skin of the most exclusive car in the world. Meaning "pure blood" or "thoroughbred", the Pur Sang harkens back to Bugatti's heritage as a racing marque, and this car is not one to disappoint.
The two-tone aluminum and carbon theme is carried on throughout the car, highlighting the exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. The combination not only adds aesthetic grace, but functional performance, keeping the rather large Veyron to a svelte 1,888kg in Pur Sang form, shaving nearly 100kg off the standard Veyron. Considered against the backdrop of 1,000hp, the power-to-weight ratio of 1.88kg/hp puts the Pur Sang into the new position of world dominance, which is likely to be a familiar sensation for anyone privileged enough to own one.Gallery: 2008 Bugatti Pur Sang

No. SSC Ultimate Aero is fastest car.
By bugatti #5, Posted: 9/14/2007
The bugatti is the wordls fastest car. It is 1.5million dollars
By no #6, Posted: 9/21/2007

As u can see, veyron is not fastest anymore =)
By adam #10, Posted: 10/4/2007
The SSC may be 3 mph faster, but it's no Veyron.... There's a world of difference between those two cars.
What would you rather have a corvette or a diablo?
By no #11, Posted: 10/8/2007
Diablo.. I know Bugatti is far more exclusive than SSC. But it was conversation about speed. I just said SSC is faster. I rather take 1 veyron than 2 SCCs :)
By Ryan #12, Posted: 2/5/2008
i would take the two SCCs sell them then buy a bugatti with the money =)
By dude #13, Posted: 4/8/2008
Ryan,
The Bugatti is $1,400,000
SSC is $278,000
SSC ultiamte aero is $628,000.....
2 ultimate aero's cost $1,256,000
not even 2 of the ultimate aero's would equal the same price as a bugatti veyron pur-sang
By diaperhead #14, Posted: 4/8/2008

By Bryce #16, Posted: 4/24/2008
sorry.. but the new pur sang whoops the ssc..
By Shadow #17, Posted: 7/13/2008
Sorry, I don't want to be rude but the SSC ultimate aero had not gone into production yet so technicly it's not the fastest "production car". Also the Koenigsegg CCX has a new unofficial top speed of 260 mph. (July 2008 UK edition of TOP GEAR magazine)
By Zero #18, Posted: 7/29/2008
Shadow: It is Koenigsegg CCXR (the one that uses Ethanol to reach the claimed 260 mph) Top Gear was talking about. I agree with you the SSC Ultimate Aero is not a production car yet. I have seen the same red SSC UATT on Garage 411 and Jay Leno Garage.

By OG #22, Posted: 10/10/2009
