Spy Shots: BMW F-series
December 31st, 1969
With BMW’s new X6 fully revealed, attention now turns to its next new model series, rumored to be a new MPV line aimed at Mercedes’ R-Class. Though the premium MPV segment has been a disappointment for the guys from Stuttgart, a new test-mule spotted in Munich suggests BMW is working on its own variant complete with a tall wagon body and a sloping hatchback fifth door.
The new car will be based on the 5-series sedan platform and is, thus, likely to benefit from its range of inline petrol and turbodiesel engines. Expect to see it on the market in 2009, by which time a smaller 3-series variant could also arrive.
