Infiniti line to expand to ’10 or so’ models

December 31st, 1969 Of the three major luxury Japanese brands, Lexus, Infiniti and Acura, only Lexus could be considered as a true rival to the more established German premium makes because of the other two’s limited lineup. However, Infiniti is working hard to become a major player in the premium segment as well, and is planning to launch several all-new models in coming years to expand its range. Speaking at last week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Nissan product boss Carlos Tavares revealed Infiniti would have a lineup of “10 or so” nameplates early in the next decade. Some of the cars he hinted at were more crossovers, a sports car and a new flagship, reports Automotive News. Until recently, Infiniti had largely been limited to selling cars in the U.S. alone but, with dealers already set up in South Korea and Russia and western Europe set to arrive next year, Infiniti is primed to release more models. Nissan has set 2010 as the date by which it hopes to have Infiniti dealers in more than 90% of the global luxury market. Via: Winding Road
