Ferrari F430 GT California 2+2 CC coming to Detroit?

Ferrari F430 GT California 2+2 CC coming to Detroit?

December 31st, 1969 Ferrari is apparently launching an all-new model, a new 2+2 seater complete with a folding hardtop and a 450hp and direct-injection version of the current 4.3L V8. The new car should make its debut at January’s Detroit Motor Show and is being targeted against lower priced exotics such as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The car will have unique styling, being penned by Italian design house Pininfarina, and will ride on a modified version of the F430’s aluminum spaceframe. According to 4Car, the chassis needed significant modifications to accommodate the new roof structure and to fit a pair of small seats up back. The engine is expected to be positioned up front with drive going to the rear wheels via Ferrari’s F1 'Superfast' sequential-shift gearbox. This is not the new entry-level ‘Dino’ model that is also rumored to be in development. According to the source, the Dino is still in its early stages and won’t arrive until 2009 at the earliest. 1. What a stunner.
And a folding hardtop as well. Is this the one where the hardtop pivots and flips over or is it a new design where it folds into a trunk space thing?
