Mazda ‘Prestige Edition’ MX-5 roadster

December 31st, 1969 The MX-5 (Miata) roadster remains one of Mazda’s top performers and it’s set to become even hotter with the release of a new ‘Premium Edition’ styling package in the Japanese domestic market. The lightweight convertible gets fitted with new leather seats and 17in BBS forged aluminum wheels, and is available with either the six-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. The package is based on the Roadster RS RHT (Retractable Hard Top) and Roadster VS RHT, which already comes standard with stainless steel scuff plates and front fog lights. The cars also get a front strut tower brace and stability control to improve handling, and a limited slip differential is available in some markets for extra precision. Prestige Edition roadsters only come with the larger displacement 2.0L motor, which develops a peak 160hp and 190Nm (140ft-lb) of torque and should see acceleration times for the 0-100km/h fall around the 6.5 second mark.Mazda MX5 Premium
