Gallery: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X details
December 31st, 1969
The new Evo X is unashamedly one of our favorite cars of the year and we suspect it will be at the top of wish lists of many readers as well. Not many cars out there come close to matching the Evo in terms of bang for your buck and it doesn’t hurt that the latest model looks amazing as well, especially up against its ungainly rival from Subaru. Mitsubishi has just released a series of new shots showing the Evo's technical highlights, which you can view after the jump.Mitsu

That is a fierce looking car, and it's performance is undeniable.
It will, however, always be the dreams of people with spiky hair who like loud exhausts and even loader music (with plenty of bass, please).
And it will always be a 4-door sedan, and without the luxury and status of the M5 or E63.
If going round a track at max speed, or blasting Ferraris is your thing, then this is your car. But for everyday enjoyment and class, for the same money, buy a 350z convertible, Mustang GT convertible, Camaro convertible, even a base SLK. Sometimes the swiss army knife just isn't as interesting or a fun as the nice shiny hunting knife...

The EvoX owner will definitely enjoy the car every day. Maybe even moreso than those convertible owners. Why? Because he'll be able to dust them all if he chooses to. Having class isn't about what car you drive. It's how you drive. Plenty of fools in expensive cars out there.

No no...The Skyline GTR gonna smoke this....Nothing special of this bland boy racer car. Still prefer something with passion such as Ferrari or Lambo or Pagani...This...its too mechanical and boring and typical and ordinary///

Gus, you have to remember that the Evo X is incredibly cheap compared to the cars you mentioned. At least a couple of members of the MotorAuthority team are considering purchasing this car because it combines performance, practicality, and price into something that\'s extremely desirable. None of the cars you mention can seat more than two people, and that\'s often a dealbreaker.
Yes, cheap performance cars have the image you mention associated with them, but who cares when you\'re behind the wheel. I\'m sure the Evo X will put many more expensive cars to shame.

Kuku - of course the GTR will smoke this. Its double the price. Thats like saying the 911 Turbo will smoke the standard Carrera. Not exactly a genius statement there.

I'm a lucky bastard. During Tokyo Motor Show, I'll do a testdrive of the car the 25th ocotber on a track close to Tokyo. Look forward to it, and will give a report, if you want. Hope I can call it the Evel X after that. GT-R will probably be a new standard, after it's birth.

I still think it looks like a transformer, is too much part of the fast and furious crowd, and has too much roof to be a truly fun car except when your putting more expensive cars to shame...
