Holden VE wagon and HSV Maloo Ute leaked again

Holden VE wagon and HSV Maloo Ute leaked again

December 31st, 1969 The Sydney Motor Show is just over a week away but already we have images of some of the highlights planned for GM’s Aussie division Holden. Images of the new VE Commodore wagon and HSV Maloo Ute were published by local magazine Motor ahead of their official debut in what’s being claimed to be an honest mistake. The new wagon is being called a concept but expect the final production version to be an exact copy when it arrives early next year. Also revealed was the new Maloo ute, a performance derivative of the recently revealed Holden ute created by Holden Special Vehicles (HSV). The first image of the car was leaked back in August, which showed the ute from the front, while this latest shot shows the car’s awkwardly styled tailgate. Expect to see the same 411hp (307kW) LS2 V8 from the sedan powering the new Maloo. Both cars are possible candidates for GM’s U.S. lineup, especially the new VE wagon, which could easily be sold as a touring version of the new Pontiac G8.

  1. GM,

Bring this Holden wagon over as the G8 Wagon/Touring.... whatever you want to call it. Don't put the hood scoops in it and I will stop looking for European brands to supply me with my next wagon.
