Toyota’s new range-topping Land Cruiser Invincible
December 31st, 1969
From the outback of Australia to the African savanna, the Land Cruiser is an icon of freedom and mobility. Recent times have seen the Land Cruiser expand beyond its workhorse roots to include high-end luxury variants to rival its European counterparts. Now Toyota has made the one-time special edition Invincible the new production zenith of the Land Cruiser line.
Exterior cues that set the high-end Invincible apart from more ordinary Land Cruisers include the new-shape headlamps, front grille, and tinted glass in the rear. Inside, the black wood trim inserts and leather and wood steering wheel add to the sense of luxury, while the rear parking monitor and hands-free Bluetooth phone access make the big Land Cruiser easier to drive.
Satellite navigation with special Electronic Traffic Avoidance features, Toyota Electronically Modulated Suspension (TEMS), dual-zone climate control, and a nine-speaker, six-disc sound system add to the luxury experience of the Invincible. Drivetrain options include both diesel and petrol engines, and even a six-speed manual can be had with the diesel. Unfortunately for American fans, Toyota will not be offering this model in the States.Land Cruiser Invincible
