Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder

December 31st, 1969 Porsche has revealed a new version of its mid-engined Boxster roadster ahead of the car’s world debut at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy next week. The new car is labeled the Boxster RS 60 Spyder and takes its inspiration from the classic open top Porsche racers of the 1960s – the Porsche Type 718 RS 60 Spyder in particular. Using the Boxster S as a donor car, designers added a unique front spoiler, 19in Porsche SportDesign alloys, a high-flow exhaust with dual pipes and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) stability control. Final engine output stands at 303hp (226kW). The car comes in a unique GT Silver metallic paint scheme combined with a contrasting natural leather interior in Carrera Red. The roof is also finished in red. As an alternative, there is also the choice of dark grey natural leather in conjunction with a black roof. The tail light clusters are also finished in red. Inside, door trim strips made of stainless steel bear the ‘RS 60 Spyder’ model designation. The faces of the instrument dials have a matching GT Silver finish and sit within a custom instrument cluster. The RS 60 Spyder is scheduled to hit showrooms in March with a starting price of €53,500 without taxes and will be limited to just 1,960 examples.
