I ever would have thought that the GT-R would be almost as fast as a Lamborghini ! ! !

And 3 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT3 ! ! !

Don't get me wrong, I love JDM cars, but Best Motoring's bias towards JDM autos makes this video practically unwatchable. I reckon we'll have to see some other tests of this kind to see by how much a Nissan GT-R (what a name) is supposed to be faster than cars with lower curb weight and more hps (lol).

Wow, that was fun to watch.
But it's tough to tell which car really won, there was a lot of corner passing, a lot of giving way.
What I'd be interested in would be all those drivers (or maybe factory drivers, who know their cars better than anyone and have no bias for any car but thier own) taking each car around for 2-3 laps and then comparing times.
Some cars will be faster in the straight sections, some in the turns, some better at braking, others at shifting.
That GT-R is an amazing car.
Lambo and NSX still look better... :)

No offence but why the hell did they put the 997 turbo in this lineup? All other cars are lightened and focused track day tools. Today fhe turbo is more a gran turismo. Why didn't they use the new 997 GT2 instead? Also I would have swapped the GT3 for a GT3 RS.
My opionion is that espacially the Porsche drivers are holding back. Early breaking and much room to get overtaken. Because of that I can't believe that especially the GT3 is so "slow". I like the GT-R and what I have seen and read it seems to be a great car with a nice price tag but I can't believe this dominance atm.

My guess is that the 911 Turbo is just such a Halo machine.
But it does belong here, and the reason being that the GT-R is no stripped down race car either. It has all the bells and whistles, just like the Turbo, and yet still kicks ass and takes names.
I do agree (but I am by no means a track racing expert) that there were some, shall we say, "preferential driving" techniques employed... :)

I have been watching Best Motoring Videos for almost six years and they are by far one of the most un-biased groups out there. They love all vehicles regardless of make or model.

I do agree getting factory drivers would present a better comparission for certain situations. However, the GT-R was bone stock just like the others.
