Spy Shots: 2009 Honda Accord Euro / Acura TSX?
December 31st, 1969
Update: The 2009 Honda Accord Euro (Acura TSX) has been released. Click here for the latest story.
Last month Honda released official teaser images for its next-generation Accord Euro, and now we have images of an actual sedan prototype undergoing testing in California. In the U.S. the car will be sold as the 2009 Acura TSX and will be limited to a sedan bodystyle only. Other markets will get a Touring wagon variant as well.
The images, which were posted on an internet forum, show that the final production model shares many similarities with the current car, including an almost identical glasshouse and profile. Look closer, however, and the new car’s rounder appearance, larger grille and intake, and taller boot become evident.
The all-new Accord Euro will be powered by a range of advanced, low emissions engines, and it will be one of the first cars to offer an entirely Euro 5-compliant engine lineup. Two petrol engines of 2.0L and 2.4L capacities and a 2.2L diesel engine mirror those in the current range, but power output will be boosted and emissions and fuel economy significantly improved as well.
The new model is set to go on sale in Europe by the middle of the year but its Acura cousin won’t arrive in the U.S. until the end of the year. Acura will also add a diesel option for the TSX but it won’t be available until several months after the launch of the redesigned car, which we'll get to see for the first time at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

Obviously it is a bit hard to tell under the camo but it does look similar to the current TSX. Like the G37 & the Corrolla, I guess it is common practice now not to mess w/ a successful model too much.
The rims look a tad better than the usual 5 spokes we get from Acura - it @ least has some design to it.

when did honda start camo-ing their new drive trains in ford fusion bodies?

Thats funny Chris. It really looks like a severely bloated current model. Lay off the salt guys.

It looks great for a evolution of the current model. Just like the 09 A4 looks like a good evolution of the current model, and like Stewie said with the G37.
Keep in mind that we have not seen the entire car yet, just some cell phone pictures. I for one can't wait to see the offical reveal of the 09 TSX at the Chicogo Auto Show tomorrow.
