Pininfarina releases more Sintesi details
December 31st, 1969
Pininfarina will be showcasing its first major design study since 2005’s stunning Maserati Birdcage Concept at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show but the latest design won’t be some exotic supercar. Instead, Pininfarina’s latest work will be more of a cutting-edge technology showcase and is designed to explore new typologies of mobility, active safety and packaging solutions.
The design house has just launched a new website with a virtual magazine detailing the car’s new features, and it provides clues to the final styling of the Sintesi thanks to a couple of design sketches. Each week until the official debut next month Pininfarina will launch an updated version of the magazine, drip feeding even more information.
The latest edition describes the Sintesi as being the "synthesis of beauty, sportiness and functionality." The concept is said to be a combination of the previous Birdcage and Nido concept cars but features a unique 700hp electric-hydrogen powertrain all of its own. One of the major innovations was to place the fuel-cell powertrain and batteries all around the car and in the process improve interior packaging and the balance.
