Bolwell reveals pricing and specs for Nagari supercar

Australian sports car manufacturer Bolwell recently debuted the latest version of its Nagari coupe and has now confirmed that it will go into limited production early next year with a price tag of about AUD$198,000 (approximately $132,580).

Designed as a modern interpretation of Bolwell’s 1970s model, which goes by the same name, the new Nagari ditches the stripped-out racer look of the original and instead adopts a luxurious grand tourer theme.

Previously there was the possibility that two powertrain options would be available, either a 3.5L Toyota V6 producing 295hp (220kW) or a more powerful supercharged version of the same engine with 375hp (280kW) on tap, however it has now been revealed that there will be no supercharged engine for now.

A double wishbone suspension setup can be found at the front and rear, and stopping power will come from 355mm vented and slotted discs - fairly average by supercar standards but keep in mind that the Bolwell weighs well under a ton.

The entire car will weigh just 920kg thanks to its advanced composite chassis and bodyshell, weighing in at just 36kg and 62kg respectively. It will still feature many luxury items such as a leather interior, a Polaris GPS radio with satnav system, as well as a reversing camera. Other standard features include 19in alloy wheels, ABS brakes, a sports exhaust system, Recaro seats, a Momo steering wheel with carbon-fiber paddle shifters, remote central locking, cruise control, air conditioning, electric windows and a premium audio system.

Bolwell hasn't released any official performance figures as of yet, but it is expected that there will be a time of less than four seconds for the 0-100km/h sprint. Bolwell is taking orders for the car now and is planning to hold demonstration days in Australia next year.
