December 31st, 1969 Having already stepped down as F1 boss, Jean Todt today announced his resignation as Ferrari CEO. Todt's replacement will be Amedeo Felisa, the current General Manager. The announcement comes just days before the start of practice sessions for this weekend's Grand Prix of Malaysia. Todt explained that he wanted to remain as CEO until Luca di Montezemolo returned to the company. Montezemolo had been serving as chairman of Italy's employers body, but now that Montezemolo is back and Ferrari can be put back into Felisa's trusted hands, Todt sees his chance to step back from the daily grind. Todt hopes to "dedicate more time to myself and the things I'm interested in." The man that led Ferrari to six straight constructors' titles between 1999 and 2004 will remain as a board member and as Chairman of Ferrari Asia Pacific and Ferrari West Europe, reports Reuters. He will also continue to have some responsibilities with the racing division, at Montezemolo's direction.
