Keating unveils SKR and TKR supercars

British sports car manufacturer Keating has taken the wraps off a pair of new supercars and is already boasting that one of the cars is capable of outpacing the Bugatti Veryon in the top speed arena. The two new additions are the high-performance TKR racer and the more livable SKR tourer, and both were on display today at a launch event in Southport, UK.
Both cars are based around the same basic chassis, consisting of a steel spaceframe structure (or optional carbon-fiber) and a GM-sourced V8 powertrain. The car’s body panels can be ordered in either fiberglass or carbon-fiber and the only transmission option is a five-speed Porsche transaxle, which channels power strictly to the rear wheels. The car measures 4.31m in length, 1.87m across and 1.15m high, and weighs a total of 1,190kg.
There are two different engines to choose from - a 6.0L or 7.0L GM V8 – and both come either naturally aspirated or supercharged. Output ranges from about 404 to 656hp for the SKR, while official numbers for TKR are yet to be announced. This is because the engine lineup for the TKR is still under development, however we can confirm there will be a twin-turbo version with up to 1,500hp.
Keating is now taking orders for the car, which is expected to enter production in limited numbers by the end of the year.

1,190kg and 1,500hp.......................better than an f1 car.

yea better than an FI but where are the aerodynamics to have it stick to the road and not fly off the road?
Sure if the 1500 hp car comes out it will eb faster than a veyron, but this is basically a street legal race car, whereas the veyron delievers you in high luxury and is just "slightly" slower...give me a veyron anytime over this car

Ok, this whole fastest car in the world "rat-race" is just getting out of hand. As someone who loves more than average amounts of power and owns a 400hp R32 GT-R, even I have to admit that a 1500hp, 1200kg, RWD street car is just asking for a Darwin Award.
Hell, a 400hp Viper is already crazy enough that it requires an almost obsessive amount of fineness to keep from loosing traction. Where are you going to use all it's capabilities anyway?
