Lithuanian coachbuilder unveils custom BMW 6-series
December 31st, 1969
Built by BMW as a tastefully elegant and not-too-vicious sports tourer, the 6-series has not historically been the first choice of the tuning crowd, in Europe or elsewhere. But one mad coachbuilder in Lithuania decided to turn his efforts toward the car, and the result is an overly aggressive coupe that loses much of the elegance of the original.
Outfitted with what amounts to nearly a complete re-body, the BMW has been subjected to what appears to be widened fenders to accommodate the 26-inch wheels wrapped in 305/30 rubber, new aerodynamic elements and new headlights plus an interior completely redone in suede.
Though the builder has heaped so many modifications on top of the foundation that it's nearly unrecognizable, there is a symmetry in the execution and a purity of purpose to the conversion that make it oddly attractive.

excuse me while I throw up. the 6 is already the ugliest BMW right now and they just made it ever more ugly. and those rims... god.
By Raptor #2, Posted: 5/21/2008
It looks kinda like Audi, except for one minor difference. TT looks good.
By Aiman #3, Posted: 5/21/2008
Despite the "complete re-body" the worst part of the car's designe has not been fixed. The ugly boot.
By Raptor #4, Posted: 5/21/2008
I agree, it looks like Z4 Coupe. ---> Ugly
By nigel #5, Posted: 5/21/2008
it is absolutely definiton of ugly! god damm ,~`~
By chris #6, Posted: 5/21/2008
here I thought I'd get gang raped for thinking this thing was ugly.
I definitely agree the worst part of the 6 is the trunk and its even worse than before.

Hate us if you want, but we kinda like the front lights. The rest is obviously trash.
By Andy #8, Posted: 5/21/2008
that thing is horrible, but the 6 series always did look aweful.
By vb #9, Posted: 5/21/2008
The front lights are definetely the only acceptable modification. This car totally reminds me of typical concept car drawings, exaggerated lines, big wheels and an overall harshness nobody would dare to put on the streets.

Admin, I really dont mind what they did with the lights, the lower body panels just before the rear wheels, or the lower front scoops. but they took an ugly car and exaggerated it like a cartoon.
Vb; most concepts are gorgeous (and others are butt ugly: think tokyo concepts) and then toned down for production so that if anyone was a little too taken aback from the polarized design, then they'll maybe buy it in production form. This car was so ugly in its production form, when you "conceptualize" it like this, all of the terrible features just got 100x worse. At least with the production one, if you look at it 50 feet away and focus on your nose it some what resembles a coupe-ish 5 or 7 series.
Actually, I just looked at the interior.. .I love cream.. really classy.. but what the HELL is that glittery crap? looks like some one took out all of the hard panels and took a metalic speckle spray paint to them. oh my GOD the interior is worse than the outside!
I really hope for all of Lithuania's sake that this car isn't a representation of the nations taste in cars. I'd rather spend a night in bed with Seal.

Here's what google picture search found, looking for "concept car":
http://auto-presse.de/newssys/galerie/14928/14928_report_w486.jpg not beautiful
http://www.imagecows.com/uploads/1b6b-Ferrari_F250_Concept_Car_Picture.jpg kinda ugly
http://www.autowallpaper.de/gallery2/d/101403-2/Subaru_Concept_Car_B_11_S.jpg pretty ugly
http://www.diseno-art.com/images_2/FYK_Concept_Car.jpg VERY ugly
http://205.155.126.101/scott/ChevyCamaroConceptCar.jpg almost ok
http://www.automotoportal.com/media/images/vijesti/060811004.jpg never liked french cars (especially their astonishingly ugly design)
http://www.autounleashed.com/images/audi_locus_concept_car.jpg that's what Lithuanians would have done to an Audi
By chris #12, Posted: 5/21/2008
fair enough. there are plenty of ugly concepts. but you get the idea.. rarely does a concept hit the road in the form it first appeared. they're almost always dumbed down.
By Layne #13, Posted: 5/21/2008
Call me crazy if you'd like, but other than the entirely-too-large wheels and a few wonky details like the exhaust, I like it! It definitely has street presence that's for sure!
By vb #14, Posted: 5/21/2008
Sure chris, this is what I wanted to say with "nobody would dare to put on the streets". All those concept cars get "dumbed down" because they're just too extreme for the "real life". Those Luthuanians did exactly the opposite.

i think the bmw 6 is a bad ass car, not for the sissy, sensative side, its the Die Hard 4.0 of cars.... yes TT is sexy but its a bitch-mobile. the mods are a good try guys. need some vents on the front bonnet and side skirts admin. good attempt with the boot, as thi sis the only bad part of the original 6, but it does look like the Z4 bottom. overall 8/10.
i think we need a Kahn or Barabus (i know they modify mercs) to tinker with the 6!!!
