Video: Honda airs live ad for new Accord Euro
December 31st, 1969
Honda is known for its ambitious advertising projects, such as the recent ‘Cog’ television promotion for its previous Accord Euro sedan, which featured a ‘Rube Goldberg’ machine - a complex device built using different parts from the actual Euro sedan that was used to do the simple task of releasing a lever to lower a completed car from a ramp. Now, the Japanese carmaker has sought to go to further extremes in its latest video promotion, labeled 'Difficult is worth doing', which you can view after the jump.
The latest ad depicts a team of skydivers forming the letters of 'Honda' as they fall to the ground from over 10,000 feet in the air. What's especially ambitious about the ad is that the original clip was aired live, and the divers had just 3 minutes and 20 seconds to form the letters during an ad break on UK television.
